By the title I am referring to my belated drive to live independently within my means, no easy task when one lives in Manhattan. Right now I'm waiting on the first soy sauce chicken I've made on my own to finish marinating. Soy sauce chicken is a favorite dish of mine back from my days in Hong Kong, and my mom will always whip it up for some meal when she's in town.
