Spore

Spore arrived yesterday (a day early - good old Gameplay!), and Tom has been playing it rather obsessively. I played for a little while today and it's wonderful fun, though I don't feel myself getting completely sucked into it as I was expecting to. I enjoyed playing it but after an hour I felt I had played for long enough and could put the game down, which I think is ideal. Devil Bloom This creature is based slightly on the Blume from Azure Dreams games. It's a fake plant, AND it has a fake face. Also, it shoots things and looks kind of mean. Interestingly, this guy has the most normal walk out of everything iIve made so far... Starman DX A boss from the SNES RPG Earthbound, Starman DX was the robot commander of Stonehenge Base, serving under the evil Giygas. As a Spore creature, the shape is right and the details aren't bad, but... The walk is funny. Also...

The long, long, long-awaited Spore game has finally shown some proper signs of life. Download the free Creature Creator now! Having played around with it, it really is thoroughly good fun :) Design your creature, then put it into Test Drive mode and watch it run around and do mating dances. Intelligent Design may be bollocks as a scientific theory, but it's damn fun as a computer game :D
