Quite recently, someone asked me, “Why do you write?” That was during the time when I was taking a break from writing, so then I said, “Right now, I’m not.” I’ve only just recently started to write quite a bit. Not on Rise of the Forgotten Kingdom , sadly, but I’ll get to it; I’m still brainstorming. But now that I’m back into writing, I have a better idea of why I’m a writer. Just a year or two ago, I wrote stories because I loved to write. Right before my major depression and my... read more

Recently...

Preparations for the party go well. I've bought some lawn tables and chairs, decoration, and all the rest of supplies we'll need... I've been feeling a little strange as of recently. I guess, if I were to describe it in the simplest of terms I would save that I've come down from my cloud. I was so happy to just be alive, and yes, I still am and quite grateful but I'm wondering what I'm going to do with myself. I've spent so long just tending to gardens, tending to souls, and helping people...

So, I've bought a bunch of stuff recently.

Every so often, I like to make one of these posts because my interests change a lot, but some things also stay the same. There are CD's that I will covet for years , and then finally get my hands on. Perhaps they're OOP and import-only, and either I find a good deal on Amazon marketplace or I splurge at Amoeba or on Volcanic Tongue/Forced Exposure/AB-CD/Gemm/some other hip distro. With that in mind, I recently got these: Been wanting those two FOREVER.. Then I also got: (New Stars...

TM 177 - Who has made you smile recently?

177 - Who has made you smile recently? It's no secret that I had certain reservations when the Xavier Institute went public and we experienced that huge, sudden influx of students. What routinely made me feel better about the situation, though, was walking through the halls in the middle of the day, surrounded by the sound and fury that was a mansion full of teenagers, all of them bustling from class to class, talking and laughing and living their lives. There's nothing like that much concentrated...

TM - Who has made you smile recently?

Who has made you smile recently? You know, you'd never think it to look at him, but Jeff's got a wicked sense of humour. Of course, he blames me for it, but I know he can be just as much a joker as I can. Take this morning, for example. Lieutenant Commander Susan Ivanova is not a morning person. She is really not a morning person. She shambles into the mess for breakfast, barely awake; kind of sleep-eats her way through the meal and downs as much caf as she can get her hands on, then heads...

The Life of Gerg, Recently Speaking

It struck me that I didn't really explain the whole working at Lovin' Spoonfuls thing. Basically, here's what happened: 1)Friday, the 31st, was payday at the bookstore, and so I treated myself to dinner at Lovin' Spoonfuls. They had a sign in the window advertising server positions. The next morning I went back to fill out an application. By this point I was feeling rather crappy -- achy throat, aching everything, and I had a fever starting. Peggy, the owner, was too busy to talk, and told me she'd...
