No real spoilers for upcoming episodes, simply speculation, but I'll throw it under a cut anyway: I just finished re-watching "Aliens in a Spaceship" and I vaguely recall reading somewhere that one of the storylines that got axed from the truncated third season was a resolution to the Gravedigger case.
