Poetry + Computer news

Computer news : I'll probably have to buy a new one. Good thing my parents still owed me a birthday gift. A friend (who helped identifying that the problem was either for the CPU or the motherboard) left me a laptop at my home so I get access to the internet ♥ I have nice friend :) Poetry : Remember that poem I was looking for the other day? Well, found it! (I had a link somewhere in the comments of my journal, hah!) Our Father Who Drowns the Birds In memory of Nicaraguans killed by the Contras... read more

Poetry

I thought it would be good to put all these in one place, for reference. Maybe I'll actually pick one to submit to the paper. Maybe. Temporarily Forever Temporarily forever I will be yours In this crazy endeavor. Temporarily forever, If you want me, or whatever; I don’t need forevermores. Temporarily forever, I will be yours. --- Terzanelle in Maddened Longing I hear poetry: in your voice, In your whispers. By your purrs Seduce and steal my choice. What is this alchemy that occurs, Half...

What type of Fae are you? bababa... From this summer ------- It's been days over weeks since I said your name out loud called to the wind maybe I'm sentimental but all words lead from roam to home That which you chose for me to amuse remind me took all of an eager hot afternoon locked away from the world and a poet searching for his roots to bring me back to mine Time grows and shrinks at both ends which way around is it? two months to come or a fortnight ago? I don't know I tell...

Individual World Poetry Slam Final Results

Congrats to Ed Mabrey, the 2007 IWPS champion! Columbus, Ohio is very proud of you, sir--and so am I! I know it was not an easy bout last night. It couldn't have been with all of those awesome slam skills on stage. I wish I could've seen it, and seen you win, sir. I think any of the top five would make great champions. I met Ed backstage at NPS Indie Finals, Chicago, 2003. I knew after hearing his voice that he was great. I'm glad he proved it. That's my friend right there! If you are not familiar...

Poetry Friday

For my inaugural Poetry Friday post, I am using one of my favorite poems. Shakespeare's Sonnet 29 When in disgrace with fortune and men's eyes, I all alone beweep my outcast state, And trouble deaf heaven with my bootless cries, And look upon myself and curse my fate, Wishing me like to one more rich in hope, featured like him, like him with friends possess'd, desiring this man's art and that man's scope, with what I most enjoy contented least, Yet in these thoughts myself almost despising...
