I've mostly eschewed any commentary on the Lisbon Treaty (I voted Yes, both times, and that's about it) but was rather...er...struck by this article in the Daily Snail. It's title "1,000 years of our [British] history comes to an end like this." should have been a warning. "This" being Ireland's ratification of the EU Treaty of Lisbon, which in Hitchens's view has given rise to a menacing EU superstate.
