In the wee hours of Monday morning, a quiet Cross community was rocked by the sounds of an explosion. The apartment of one of the city's finest, Officer Rip van Winkle, was the source of the disturbance. According to firefighters at the scene, the cause was determined to be a gas leak. There were no casualties, though Ms. van Winkle did sustain second degree burns to a great deal of her left side. Though in the ICU, her condition seems stable. read more
