Midnight Ascending has been updated with Chapter 2: The Phantom Noose I had a lot of fun with this chapter, the dialogue especially, and Kaname's inner struggle. I wanted to draw parallels between Zero's fight with his vampire self and Kaname's fight with his pureblood instincts, which are triggered by having bound Zero to him.
