MOVIE REVIEW - Moon

Moon Director : Duncan Jones Writers : Story by Duncan Jones, Screenplay by Nathan Parker Producers : Stuart Fenegan, Trudie Styler Stars : Sam Rockwell, Dominique McElligott, Robin Chalk, and featuring the vocal talents of Kevin Spacey Sam Bell (Sam Rockwell) is a good employee. A little informal, a little temperamental, but he’s dedicated and mechanically-versatile. He copes better with solitude than the average person. You could say he’s uniquely-suited for his challenging job, the lone... read more

Moon Child

I am back! And looking at the Japanese movie "Moon Child", staring J-Rock's very own Hyde and Gackt. I promise to avoid spoilers! Because I'm not sure if I did spoil anything in the last review =/. Moon Child This movie revolves around the main character Kei ( Hyde ) who is a vampire. At the beginning of the film, we are taken through different time zones, from the year 2000 to the year 2014 and so on so forth ( it changes quite often through the movie, but the time frame changes...

Moon of the Terrible

Will Call Review: Description : Desolation at the last moment in the gloaming on New Year's Day: winter snow with lavender, benzoin, lychee, white resins, and a cluster of melancholy, lachrymose lunar herbs and florals. Wet and early dry stages were slightly sweet, bright exotic lychee and strongly herbal lavender, albeit a very BLUE feeling one (a more herbal and pungent version of the same note in Yvaine), which possibly felt more herbal because of the mentholic eucalyptus. The lychee...

movie review: Moon

Moon , directed by Duncan Jones I wrote a somewhat lengthy review of the movie Moon using the LJ browser posting page, and then something or other I did right at the very end caused me to accidentally engage the Back function of the browser, and then the whole thing was gone. Grrr. So this will probably be a pale shadow of that. Because it was a masterpiece. I'm telling you. Do movie reviews usually make you weep and break into peals of laughter, all within the space of one paragraph? And yet...

Films in Review: Moon

Moon (2009) Director: Duncan Jones Writers: Duncan Jones & Nathan Parker Staring: Sam Rockwell & Kevin Spacey (voice) Ever see a really bad sci-fi movie with a great plot? You wonder to yourself, "If only it had a budget, a good writer, and some decent actors". Well, it finally happened. This is that diamond in the rough that sci-fi fans have been waiting for. Basic synopsis, in the midst of an energy crisis on earth, scientists discover clean energy in moon rocks, and send a lone astronaut, Sam...

REVIEW: Moon

There's so much I want to say about director Duncan Jones' directorial debut, Moon but so little I want you to know about it. The film is one of those extraordinary treasures that is more impressive the less you know going in. All I'd heard was good word of mouth - I never saw a trailer, never heard the premise, didn't know what to expect. I did hear it compared to Solaris - which is valid in some small ways, but for me it is more comparable to Gattaca . And yet Moon is dissimilar to both...
