another note to self / 48hrs kind of entry. met with a colleague today who is very desperate, so desperate that he could not enjoy what is given to him. he couldn't hear a word I said. I've decided to begin this journal with a very personal piece, even though chronologically speaking, I have only recently written this version. Because of this, the piece has not yet been proof-read or edited to the full extent I would prefer. Le sigh... I have to appologize to the elf for what happened yesterday... we three players were there earlier by about 1/2 hour ( damian_clash , micah_hakubi and I), so the game started early. And things were going well... even if micah_hakubi was feeling off thanks to a rough day and thus was being all quiet. For years, as I would assist kids who enjoyed fantasy, sci-fi, and horror novels, I would think, "These kids will love books by Christopher Golden . . . in ten years." Golden's first novel, OF SAINTS AND SHADOWS, was released in 1994. This dark horror story about a vampire named Peter Octavian contains what Buffy Summers would describe as "violence, strong language, adult content." So, in between jabbering with Twiggy on the phone and watching the Golden Globe awards on the Saskatchewan satellite channel, I had the fangirling pleasure to watch Hugh Laurie, AKA Gregory House, smoothly talk out his exception speech.
