More of it, and less knowledge

So, here's my dilema: Again: I went over, he made dinner, and we ate with another couple.  I had fun, I drank, we watched a crappy ass movie, we went to bed, I puked, we made love, we went to sleep. After I puked, and before we made love, he made a throwaway comment to me that he wasnt ready to commit. His exact words were "I dont think I am ready to make a commitment just yet." I didnt think about it at the time. I was too into him, too into my moment, and just enjoying me and him together. I dont... read more

No knowledge is wasted on a writer

The shoulder is getting better. I can do a bit more with it before it gets achy. I have realised with some horror that my plotmap is missing. No doubt a victim of No. 2 Son's 70's rock star bit. It is in the house somewhere, and I will find it. Upon which I shall make some sort of backup on the computer. Until then, I'm lost on the actual book. I need my map, and I'm pretty well past the part of the route I know by heart. (Which is good, in a way. It means real progress had been made) Until then...

Open source knowledge

This is a response to comment that valsharess1 made about Wikipedia and how she hates the fact that people refer to it as though it is an infallible source of information. I started to write and it turned out that as I did so, I found my answer growing by leaps and bounds in length. With that in mind, I have saved her and anyone else the trouble by making this entry my response. Oh, and I apologize if this takes on the tone of a rant at some points... because that is not what I intended...

Knowledge

Where can I find that part of me that disappeared? My childhood ended too soon, am I just compensating for that? There is still a part of me that wants to be little and innocent and cute. But will I ever be again? I am not sure, and I really don't care. So if innocence becomes pride than what of those who had none to start with? Innocence is being oblivious, so when you finally accept something does it turn into pride? Does knowledge really equal pride? From crushes to partners... where does the...

Understanding Knowledge Work

I found it very difficult to understand this article by Alan Liu. I can say that I agree with the subtitle: Huh? The author goes about rebuking criticism of his book Laws of Cool . As I never read this book, I can only surmise it was as difficult as the article, which in an effort to explain the book, lost me. It is written in an egotistical academia "expert language", including German terms like "Bildung", which as a German Studies major, I know means "education". The question proposed seems...
