mini post, but mostly new clicky ads

Eventually I'm going to post about my vacation in Mexico, which was great btw, but being the second week back in school and i'm already bogged down. Right now I'm trying to get through Frankenstein and Midsummer Night's Dream before Wednesday. And I'm supposed to go see The Tempest tomorrow night with the Italian, but I fear he might forget and I'll go alone. I also plan on posting about my current classes and how much I'm actually enjoying them. My stomach hurts from too much pie and I'm going to... read more

Money, Money.

I got my packet from WSU CVM. It was huge and full of things I've got to do, though I'd say I'm about halfway through it. Mostly it's the scholarship application stuff left. I HATE filling out that stuff. I read through the 'for sale' ads and found three trailers I'm interested in, and one of them I'm really excited about. It's nice, has a yard, and is within walking distance of classes. They're all singles, which is more expensive, but I don't know that I can find a roomie that will put up with...

Growing up in the 90's meme

You watched the ABC more than any other station. Definately. It had all the best cartoons. You made worms by squeezing your Vegemite or peanut butter crackers together. Yes! And they tried to escape, but NO! I ate them all! The best parties always had fairy bread. The best parties had video games. But fairy bread rocked too. The Waugh twins. Go! Aussie! Go! Um, who? Super League almost ruining rugby league in Australia. You seem to be under the mistaken impression that I know or knew anything...

You can and should drink the water in Vienna. My first couple of days in Vienna have came and gone. I had a donner sandwich. It’s a great Euro-sandwich. From turkey made from lamb on a big kbhosibe stick. With cucumber sandwich and tomato all for 2.50 Euro. With the exchange rate I got is about 3 American dollars. I got a steal on the exchange rate it was 1.24 and when I got off the plane in Germany 1.33 and in Austria 1.46. This sandwich are the best thing ever and then I had some Viennese dessert...

England 2006 - Episode 3

Now that I'm through the first week of orientating myself in my new environment, I'm becoming more aware of subtle differences between Oxford and NZ.   It is kind of like I'm in a big game of 'spot the difference'.   In the morning, I have Weetabix (not weetbix), which are oblong (not rectangular – they are also slightly green??), then I have peanut butter and vegemite (I think my hosts found some for me especially, aw...) on toast – but the spreads are in glass rather than plastic jars.   The...

The young men and women of America's future elite work their laptops to the bone, rarely question authority, and happily accept their positions at the top of the heap as part of the natural order of life A few months ago I went to Princeton University to see what the young people who are going to be running our country in a few decades are like. Faculty members gave me the names of a few dozen articulate students, and I sent them e-mails, inviting them out to lunch or dinner in small groups. I...
