I'm in England (Zone eight apparently - thanks squid_ink !) and have three Lupins. One that I grew from seed and two that I bought as adults from a local independant garden centre. The Lupin that I grew myself is fairly bursting with fresh growth, while the two bought adults have been doing nothing at all and I thought they were dead.
