Florence was just about lived up to my expectations, and they were high. I think we picked the best possible weekend to go; the weather was sunny but not hot (it sometimes got a little chilly in the evenings, when the wind got up, but still pleasant), it was still tourist season with stuff going on and attractions open, but not insanely crowded or expensive.
