Even though I certainly complain about the competitive parts about the slam, the wonderful thing about the slam community (there are many) is that we treat people very well: features, each other, etc. There is alot of opportunity and there is a lot of appreciation of the art form. Even people who do not like each other still manage to share stages, organize shows, and support each other.
