Halfway home

Yesterday was the halfway point.  While I was hoping that I would have been well ahead of 25 000 words by that point, I "only" was at 26K.  Ugh.  By the end of today I'm hoping that I'll give myself a bit more of a boost and manage to get to 30K, that way I'll be 60% of the way to winning.  This novel is going to take much longer than 50K to write, at least at the rate it's currently moving at.  I'm going to keep going NaNo-style until its done, so I'm hoping I can get the majority of it written...

Five months ago, I got on a plane and left New Zealand, and in five months I'll be hopping on another one and coming back. I've finally made it to the halfway point, the top of the AFS mountain.
