Grateful I’m sitting on the chaise, curled against one arm reading a book that I just got when he comes in. He walks past me carrying a couple grocery bags. The rustling that they make doesn’t distract me, although I stop reading briefly as I feel the weight of his gaze over my shoulder. He takes the bags into the kitchen and puts away the groceries he picked up on his way home before he makes a return trip to the couch.
