Hi. I'd like to propose August 19th as the date for the next Go Play SE Portland. This is a Sunday. If anyone objects feel free to propose another date. But I'd like to try a Sunday because I know there are at least a few people that have said they just can't come on Sat. Seriously. I want to go home. I've been in Portland,OR for OSCON. I arrived early, and caught up with a few people who were at Ubuntu Live (I didn't actually attend this myself). Was good to catch up with a few friends, but I'm actually missing Boston. I've been to Portland several times now (I think this is my third trip), but this trip has been the longest continual stretch that I've been here, and for some reason I just haven't enjoyed it as much as I did on earlier trips. ...and then meandered around. i don't know what it is about portland but i'm pretty certain i've never found my way to anything without getting lost. sigh. still, made it to a nice dinner, stopped in at hpl fest and said hello to lilmartini , mskoi , joanarkham , citizen_ken and more. it was fun. anyway, toying with bringing the camera and laptop with me. When my family moved away from Portland and I had to live in washington state, houston, then austin, i always missed portland hard. i dreamed of coming back of somehow getting back. i love this city. i can be my full nostalgic romantic hopeful self and portland just gives back. I can love it as hard as i want and it takes it. this is my city.
