Out behind my current house, there's a garage that the owner tried to convert into living units, before the city stopped him. For about two months, there's been no work on it at all, although the city did say something like "convert it back, you bastard." Today, there were workmen out there, converting it back. They'd already removed the ordinary entry door they'd put in and put an ordinary garage-sized doorway back, although they hadn't put an actual garage door into the frame.
