Excuse me sir, do you have the train?
   

The Red Line was experiencing delays (I love the passivity in the language the MBTA uses) tonight on my way home due to some problem at Harvard. Right around Central, a uniformed T employee (the conductor?) emerges from the "cockpit" into the train car, and asks me, "Excuse me, can you tell me what time it is?" Um... I told her it was 6:42.
