Today's adventures included Devils Tower National Monument in Wyoming There is a cool 1.3 mile hike around the base of the tower through the pine forest. Seeing lava columns on this scale was pretty amazing. There's a prairie dog town at the park where lots of baby prairie dogs were clumsily emerging and wandering around. I got the obligatory shot glass at a gift shop just outside the park and we crushed the image of the tower onto a penny. Then it was on to the Black Hills and South Dakota....

I have been wearing a locked collar for a few weeks. When I hit Hawai'i, the sweat hit the metal (it had been cold before) and I started developing a rash. In Phoenix, it got worse, much worse.
