A Poem i won a competition for - its now published!!

I fly in the day, I fly in the night, I’ll fly in my own way, So high and so bright.   I have a dream that I am a cat, I’ll sleep through the day, And play in the night. The world is my novel, The days are my chapter, I’ll fill my book with cheers and laughter.   I have a dream of a world filled with war, Of death and dismay, I never yet saw. Children are screaming, Parents are crying... read more

Trust me when I say this is not the last you will hear of Word Clues , sesquipedalianism and so forth. Note, too, that you're getting a taste of what is to come. I am not a scholarly writer, nor a succinct one. Heck; I'm born...

widen the mouth and let it go

Carol V. Davis - 3 Poems THE VIOLIN TEACHER COMES FOR A LESSON Buzz and slam of grated gate for flights down. His footsteps (I now recognize) on the stairs the final stamping to shed ice and debris. Pyramids of snow line the streets, pushed into formation by women in orange vests and shaggy wool leggings. The delicacy of their bound twigs no match for the brutality of a St. Petersburg winter. I open the first of double doors, pause before the second. I have been scolded for being too...

THE TRANSLATION WARS

(забавная и интересная статья о трудностях перевода) HEAD: THE TRANSLATION WARS; How the race to translate Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky continues to spark feuds, end friendships, and create small fortunes. In their liberal interpretation of Dostoyevsky, Father Zosima is a gay foot fetishist...
