Last week the Boston Phoenix posted a feature called 50 Bands, 50 States , listing the all-time best band, all-time best solo artist, and best upcoming band or artist from each state (with Washington DC included too "as a bonus", so really "153 bands and artists, 50 states and a federal district", which isn't nearly as catchy).
