It's "Race That Stops A Nation" Day today. It feels like we in Sydney are the only ones (at my work at least) that are working - not quite the case, but Melbourne has the day off for the VRC Melbourne Cup, and the ACT has a "Family and Community Day" this year on the same day - apparently introduced partially as a rebuttal to the WorkChoices legislation .
