I really like how Tim Burton films movies. He's got a great style. Otherwise, this film was only o.k. Loved Depp & Bonham-Carter, but would have loved them more had this not been a musical. I get that this is supposed to be a musical & singing about eating people is pretty cool (?), but I'd love to see this outside of the musical realm. The film is pretty gory, but still worth seeing. read more

XD sooo i bought the movie soundtrack today. and i was/am pleasantly surprised by it. i don't love it like i do the original cast recording -- no one sings sweeney quite like len cariou -- though mr. depp's singing seems more "emotive" and sweeney-like than i thought from the clips released thus far. helena bonham carter's voice is actually quite nice...
