2007 Movie Review 30 Dan in Real Life

So, Steve Carell is o.k.  I've never watched him in The Office .  I've only seen part of The 40-Year-Old Virgin .  I did enjoy him in LIttle Miss Sunshine .  I saw the previews for this film & thought it looked pretty funny.  Well, it was - sort of.  There is a lot of dry humor, but not LOL funny.  The film is only about 1 1/2 hours long, but I swear I looked at my watch thinking I'd been sitting there over 2.  It was quite slow.  There are also scenes in the trailer that aren't in the film -... read more

Don't see it. Ever. I want to gouge my eyes out that movie was so wretched. I saw it with Joey and Megan and to use Megan's words because they are so perfect, "If I could murder a movie, I'd murder this one." It was SO, SO, SO bad. Steve Carell can't even save it. Great review huh?

Heh, looks like I didn't review last week's Christmas episode - which was solid, but not spectacular. Still a great hour of Journeyman , lending a little bit more depth to each of the characters. This week's episode has me cursing NBC loudly and often. This was the show's best episode yet - providing an interesting time travel story and a solid emotional component for Dan as a result of something he changed. Accidentally. The teaser was simple and effective - the RV hanging over the cliff....

Dan in Real Life was a simple family oriented romance comedy. Dont expect big laugh from Steve Carell this time but there were many light hearted and heartwarming scenes. A movie that appropriately set the relaxing and peaceful tone for Lynn & my day.

My favorite book is over, another favorite is almost there, and then there's the two impulse buys (I am trying to cut back, but curiosity got the best of me again). Ka-Zar & Zabu Cable & Deadpool #49: Fabian Nicieza only scripted this issue, and penciler Reilly Brown handled the plot. Props to Nicieza for sticking around, I personally would have bailed if an editorial edict totally gutted three years of character development and storylines, and killed off one of the leads IN ANOTHER BOOK...
