10 year anniversary

Wow, two LJ posts in two days. I must be slacking off at work again! Right, so today marks the 10 year anniversary of my arrival in the UK. (Or my return to the UK, if I'm being pedantic.) (Warning, this post is laden with descriptions of food. If you are at all hungry, do not read this.) Wow what a weekend that was. Twelfth wedding anniversary today. Yay! I met pussreboots back in the summer of 1991, when we were at UCSB's freshman orientation. Today is the anniversary of the surrender of Acre to Saladin's forces in 1187. It was won back 4 years later, after a lengthy siege, and became the main city of the kingdom until its final fall in 1291. But back in 1187, things were looking very bleak for the Franks.
